Took a ferry all night last night from the Greek isles to Italy!!!! I got sea sick but it was fine once we got on the bus. We drove through Naples and stopped for our first Italian lunch in Italy. I got pizza and we went to Pompeii where the volcano erupted in 56 AD I THINK it was?? It was absolutely amazing and incredible and sad all at the same time.. I can't imagine the people who suffered through that volcano but it was also pretty interesting at the same time because from 3,000 years ago the original architect and buildings are preserved and STILL standing! I couldn't believe it. The whole town and city of Pompeii was under ground 30 feet and yet the archeological people uncovered it and restored the town and you can see the original remains and that was pretty incredible. It was sad but yet amazing at the same time.
I will post pictures of pompeii later. I'm so excited to be in Italy!!! We are finally in Rome and hung out on the spanish steps tonight for Lauren's birthday and got our first gelatos :) tomorrow we are going to the roman colleseium I'm excited!!
